Every agent listed publicly on Find Mortgage Agent has been through the same check: a human on our team looked up the licence number the agent provided in the public register of their stated provincial regulator and confirmed the licence was active, in that name, at the time of review. Only then does the listing go live and carry the Verified badge.
Mortgage agents in Canada are licensed provincially. Depending on the province an agent practises in, we check the public register of the relevant regulator — for example FSRA in Ontario, BCFSA in British Columbia, RECA in Alberta, or the AMF in Quebec. An agent who serves more than one province needs a licence in each, and each additional-province licence is verified on its own before that province appears on their listing.
Being honest about the limits of the check matters as much as the check itself:
You can always confirm an agent's licence yourself, for free, in their regulator's public register — every profile shows the agent's licence number and regulator so you can do exactly that.
The Verified badge is about licences. Reviews have their own integrity system — a review tagged "Verified Lead" comes from a borrower our records show actually contacted that agent through Find Mortgage Agent. How that works, and how to report a review, is covered in our Review & Content Policy.
If you believe a listed agent's licence information is wrong, expired, or misrepresented, email support@superkreatives.com with the profile link and what you found. We investigate promptly and suspend listings we can no longer verify. For concerns about an agent's professional conduct, contact their regulator directly — the regulator, not Find Mortgage Agent, has the authority to investigate licensees.
